Dear Ms. Wu:

 I am pleased to inform you that the Multimedia Program Admissions Committee has recommended you for conditional admission to the Multimedia Graduate Program for Fall Quarter 2006.   Official notification of your admission to the University will be sent to you by the Office of Admissions. 

 Congratulations on your acceptance into the Master of Arts in Multimedia Degree Program.  Let me take this opportunity to personally welcome you.  The Multimedia faculty look forward to meeting and working with you over the next few years. 

 Your talents and motivation have earned you a place among a select group of individuals.  As a multimedia graduate student, you represent one of only a handful in the world pursuing a Multimedia Masters Degree.  Your involvement in this new academic field and industry will certainly shape and define its future.

 In order to ensure your success in the program the Admissions Committee is admitting you to the program with the condition that you successfully complete a sequence of preparatory multimedia classes the first year with a grade of 'B' or better.  Two of these courses will be applied to your elective requirement.  This sequence of classes will include the following courses:

 ART 2810 Principles of Design

 ART 2830 Introduction to Time-Based Media

 ART 3800 Multimedia I: Animation

 ART 3820 Multimedia II: Digital Video/Audio

 ART 3830 Digital Graphics II: Digital Imaging

 ART 3825 Advanced Time-Based Media

 ART 3870 Art for the Web

 ART 4200 Interactive Authoring

 During your first year of preparatory coursework you will be required to take MM6103 Business Basics of Multimedia in Fall Quarter 2006.  You can also elect to take MM6102 Application of Learning Theories and the Forum classes during the first year.

 Successful completion of these classes will bring your multimedia production skill level up to graduate program standards.  This will extend your program requirements to three years but I can assure you it will be well worth it.

 Soon you will be mailed information about the Fall Quarter 2006 schedule and course registration.  As part of my regular duties as Program Director I will be your faculty advisor while you are in the program.  I strongly suggest you speak with me before registering for Fall quarter.  I can be reached at 510-885-2427.  Please email rXXXX@csueastbay.edu as soon as possible to confirm that you are accepting the offer of admission and to make arrangements for picking up your portfolio.
